Hyatt Ziva is a family-friendly resort and Hyatt Zilara, which is next door is an adults-only resort. You must be 18+ to stay at the Zilara or attend a wedding at the Zilara. Adult guests can enjoy both properties. 

First, let me tell you that the Hyatt Ziva (and Hyatt Zilara which is next door!) have the most gorgeous blue water beach and white sand that you will ever see! Imagine how amazing that will look in the background of your wedding photos! I had the pleasure of traveling there recently and experiencing it firsthand, the Dominican Republic is truly a beautiful country!

So how much does it REALLY cost to have your wedding at Hyatt Ziva or Zilara in Cap Cana?

Hyatt Ziva and Zilara offer a complimentary wedding package with a minimum 7-night stay if it’s just the two of you. The other packages available depend on how many guests you would like to have in attendance, the type of package you choose, and the extras you would like to add on to make your day extra special. The cost of your wedding at Hyatt Ziva can range anywhere from $8k to $21K.  But no worries!  I am going to break down all the details for you in this post!

For Just the Two of You

Hyatt Ziva and Zilara’s complimentary wedding package, exclusively for the couple, is available with a 7-night stay in qualifying categories. This wedding package includes all of your favorite wedding amenities and traditions. Whether you marry in a gazebo or on the beach you’ll receive sweet amenities for Just the Two of You.

Includes the Couple:

• Symbolic marriage ceremony & certificate, performed by a bilingual secular officiant
• Bridal Bouquet
• Boutonniere
• Wedding location
• Sparkling wine toast after the Ceremony
• Wedding cake after the Ceremony
• Room decoration with flower petals & complimentary wine
• Late checkout up to 3:00 PM subject to availability
• Pre-planning and onsite services of a professional wedding concierge

Just the Two of You package can be complimentary if the wedding couple stays (7) nights or more in a qualifying category (Royal Junior Suite Ocean View or higher) and is only available Monday-Wednesday and Thursday-Sunday before 4 pm. Complimentary weddings are only available when requested at least 6 months before first before, the wedding date. For non-qualifying couples, a package may be purchased and is only available Monday-Wednesday and Thursday-Sunday before 4 pm. Restrictions apply.

How much is the deposit to confirm a date with the resort?

To confirm and hold your date and time for your wedding with the resort is a $500 fee. This ensures that no one else will book at the same time. This fee is non-refundable, so be sure doubly sure of your date before you book! The fee will be applied to your wedding package once you have picked it.

How many weddings does the resort have in one day?

Hyatt Ziva and Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana offer 3 times to pick from per day. One in the morning, one in the afternoon, and one in the evening. 

Does Hyatt Zilara offer same-sex weddings?

Yes.

How far in advance do we need to book our wedding? 

There is no set time in advance that you must book your wedding, but Hyatt Ziva and Zilara books extremely quickly and well over a year in advance, so it’s best to start the planning process as soon as you can, to give you the most flexibility on dates, especially if you’d like a weekend date. Especially if you have a specific date in mind. Most couples start the planning process at least 18 months in advance.

Do weddings at Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana include all the vendors we’ll need or Can I bring my own vendors for our wedding? 

You can use the hotel vendors or you can bring your own. You are welcome to bring in your own vendors from outside the resorts, both from the local area and internationally, for a $1,000 fee per vendor. There will be an additional outside vendor fee for all outside vendors, though. The fee right now is $1,000 per vendor. Hyatt will discount this fee to $500 if the vendor stays in the resort for a minimum of 3 nights. 

 

Many couples want to bring their own photographer and videographer from home, so to avoid paying double fees I would recommend hiring a photographer who is also a videographer. Please note that if you want to bring your own officiant there is no vendor fee at this time for officiant at Hyatt Ziva. Many couples invite a close friend to be their officiant. 

How much will my wedding cost if I have 30 guests?

To have 30 guests or more, you should choose the Lavish and Opulent package. Each of these packages includes 20 guests, with the option of adding more guests. Additional adult guests cost $95 and additional children guests cost $47.50. So if you are adding on 10 additional adult guests, you will pay an additional $950.

Is there anything that is *not* included in the wedding packages above?

Here are some extras that you can purchase separately for your wedding: DJ, Photographer, Videographer, Table Centerpieces, Decor not mentioned on the package list.

You can hire a DJ with the wedding department for 3 hours for a fee of $1,086

Photography

Table centerpieces

It will depend on how big and elaborate you want each centerpiece to be. Prices start at $75 and go up to $290 per centerpiece. I send my brides and grooms the list of centerpieces with pictures and prices to aid in their decisions making process..

So how much does a wedding cost at Hyatt Ziva/Zilara? 

Here is an example!

If you chose the Lavish package with an add on of 1-hour photography, DJ 1-hour Videography, and 10 table centerpieces at $75 each, then your total wedding cost would be: $8,120 

What is the minimum number of rooms for a group discount and how do I book rooms for my guests?

I can totally help you with that! A typical wedding room block consists of at least 10 or more rooms for a total of 3 or more nights. Once your date is confirmed we will request your rate and concession ( freebies) details from the resort and will walk you through the room block contracting process from there. Your guests will get a better booking rate with the group and you will get complimentary rooms! This translates to a cash refund for you to use toward your own room or wedding package! I provide all my couples with an Organizational tool to keep all wedding-related plans and ideas in one place, help you with your wedding website, take care of all guest’s room reservations, answer all their questions, etc. 

 

Do all our guests have to stay at the hotel to be able to come to our wedding?

The hotel requires that 80% of the wedding guests stay at the Hyatt. All guests that are not staying on-site at the hotel must pay a fee of $170 per person to attend the wedding. This fee allows them to enter the property only 30 minutes before the ceremony time and they must leave at the end of the reception. It’s best for you if all your guests stay at the Hyatt, the more rooms you book the more freebies you’ll get from the hotel ( freebies translate into cash for your wedding)
